Lower Back tattoos-A hot trend that has a long history behind it

Walk down the street of any big city in this world and you’ll see many people that sport at least one tattoo. The younger generation, in particular, have embraced the whole tattoo craze with a gusto never seen before, having tattoos etched all over their bodies. The most popular places to have tattoos are hands, arms, and legs. The more adventurous ones are having tattoos applied to their upper back and chest regions. The most daring people are having their necks, face and scalp tattooed. The most popular place for women to have tattoos are on their lower back. The lower back tattoo is designed to really show off the shapes and curves of the female body.

While the lower back tattoo has exploded in popularity this decade, it’s actually been around for hundreds of years. Lower back tattoos can be traced back to ancient pagan rituals. Many cultures thought the lower back was where people stored their spiritual energy. This notion also is present in Eastern cultures, particularly the use of meridian fields and chi force. Lower back energy is also an important tenet of many different forms of yoga.

As a result, lower back tattoos were quite popular for many years because of this belief of energy release. Unfortuantely, most of the historical records concerning lower back tattoos have been lost.

Most women today do not know this history, but it is not necessary to know this history in order to enjoy these tattoos!
